Wii U TV Commercial explains unique features

Nintendo has released the first UK TV ad for Wii U, in which it tries to explain the unique features of the brand new console.

We aren't really sure why Brad Pitt stars at the beginning, it's a bit odd really, however the commercial itself seems to do a decent job of explaining what's new.

Check out the video below.

You can pre-order Wii U from ShopTo here.

Not a brilliant ad, but I've seen worse. At least they are starting advertising now.

oooooooor, this Friday you download the Smartglass App for free and use it with Xbox? No extra costs. No half-assed kids games. Yes? :P

No extra costs, apart from a smartphone or tablet. And it lets you navigate the dashboard, and not much else, hardly the same thing at all. Nintendo don't make half-assed kids games either. :)

Smart glass is a much lesser version of what the Wii U is going to offer, I just cannot wait to play some more Mario and Zelda in HD

I can't wait for the Wii U, it's good to see the advert but it's not aimed at 'me' as I already have one pre-ordered (Thanks ShopTo) but it does a good job of making people aware that the console is coming out soon. Oh and forget the 'nay-sayers' as this will be a fantastic console launch.

The Brad Pitt thing is a Chanel No5 advert. The advert does a good job at explaining the gamepad.

Still no explanation on how the whole switch to the pad so someone can use the tv thing works. I wanna know how that will be used for games that need both the controller and tv. Assuming that there are games that actually need both that is

It can only go two ways, you either can't play the game, or features that require both screens would be disabled.

I may be mistaken but is the guy speaking during the advert the JML guy? sounds very similar if not lol. i thought they would have started earlier too as the console is out at the end of next month, very late to start but nonetheless it looks very impressive!!!

he sounds similar, really similar, but i don't think it's the jml guy lol.

Despite the ads I think Nintendo really will struggle to sell this is as a 'new must have gadget' to the mainstream buyers. Will just be seen as another novelty add-on for the Wii.
