God of War: Ascension multiplayer beta detailed

God of War: Ascension is to get a multiplayer beta, with Sony offering the public two ways to enter.

The first option is to be a PS Plus member, which is simple enough really. Just hit the subscription button on the PS3 if you haven't already.

If you don't fancy Plus, then the other way is to take part in The Rise of the Warrior, a new social game which is currently being advertised on the God of War site. Entering in this way will actually get you into the beta a week ahead of everyone else.

The game is being described as a 'graphic-novel style story' and as well as early beta access, it also offers in-game unlocks for God of War: Ascension multiplayer such as exclusive multiplayer weapons and armor. In the game you'll be asked to side with either the Spartans or Trojans, with the winning side being rewarded with early access and 30 day PlayStation Plus subscriptions.

More details are expected soon.

This franchise was one of the very few reasons I bought a ps2 and what a good decision I made. I also managed to play god of war 3 on my friends ps3 but now another decision lays before me. Will this game be worth me purchasing a ps3? Who knows but I know for a fact I will enjoy the single player but I'm very hesitate about the multiplayer. I really hope it does work out and the multiplayer has no glitches. Brilliant franchise!!! Definitely one of my favourite!
