Medal of Honor to get 'huge' day one patch

It's been revealed that there'll be a day-one patch available for EA's Medal of Honor: Warfighter and it sounds like you may want to download it, well unless you want to run into a list of glitches and broken features.

If you've paid 40 GBP for this game then you may not be too impressed to see that there are so many faults on the disc, however you can at least hit that update button on day one, making everything right in the world again.

You can see a list of the fixes which will be applied in the day one patch here.

What you do think of this? Do you find it acceptable that a disc you paid for has so many flaws or are you happy that it'll be patched before you experience these?

Let us know below.

Can't say I'm surprised. Anything within spitting distance of either EA or Bethesda is a buggy, glitchy mess. I expect more patches will be released in the future for MoH

It's a tough one. We have our review copy here now. Do we review with or without patch? Generally we review with patch but make mention of game without it.

Is it possible to play the online portion of the game without the patch? as soon as you sign in wont you need to update to do so?

I'd say review it without the patch, then tell us what the patch fixes, and what it doesn't.

It's unacceptable that developers take a half arsed approach to games now. We pay good money for poor games that they "fix" with a patch later on.

The patch is massive so can c another one in a month or so cuz doubt the patch will b completly succesfull. Im more enoyed the US getting it early.

I'm with Gloria on this one... without the patch I think would be a fair reflection as some people may not have access to the net for example (I know very rare in this day & age).

Exactly, they made a point of mentioning the final level of 007 Legends not being on the game disc in their review and that some people would be unable to get it.

if you look at battlefield 3 they get these massive fixes as does most ea games

So if you dont have internet access your paying £40 for a game that could crash.
Anonymous user's avatar
Yep that seems to be the case, although not "could" but "will" crash :P

I remember that was kind of similar when battlefield 3 came out, they had a day one texture patch or something that helped with the poor graphics. seems just to be an EA problem..

I think its shameful that companies have to have day one patches. If its not ready, don't release it. Take pride in your work and finish it. It even had a damn beta.

to be fair im glad theyre doing this. id much rather have the problems fixed on the disc but its better this than a patch a month or so down the line

A game really shouldn't go gold if it needs this much post release patching. Thats just wrong as a large percentage of gamers do not have a PS3 or 360 connected to the internet. But sadly, the PCification of console gaming is only going to get worse. Its ironic that the PC gamer moans about the consolification of PC gaming, I see this trend as far worse than controller support for most PC games released. :)
