SmartGlass set to arrive this week on Xbox 360

Xbox SmartGlass is to go live this week to coincide with the release of Windows 8 on October 26.

Microsoft's Major Nelson revealed the details on his blog, stating that the Xbox 360 dashboard update does in fact enable support for SmartGlass, although it won't be activated until Windows 8 goes live.

According to Major Nelson, the following games, apps and service will support the feature:

- Ascend
- Dance Central 3
- Forza Horizon
- Halo Waypoint
- Home Run Stars
- Karaoke
- Kinect Sesame Street TV
- Prima Games

- NBA Game Time

Entertainment Apps:

- Elections 2012
- NBC News
- Slacker Radio
- Univision

There is no indication as to how you'll be able to interact with the above games, but we imagine that in titles such as Dance Central 3 for instance, you'll be able to queue up songs and perhaps look at highlights. The TV apps meanwhile will no doubt allow you to flick through and choose your movie etc.

More pointless useless stuff for the Xbox, I haven't even got the dashboard update yet. Rather have some free games like PS+ subscribers get.

I have got the new Xbox dashboard update today Gloria, its not much different, Everything is massively big on the screen and everything seems a bit cluttered. Nothing to write home about i can assure you.

With the new update I don't really find that's its a big step into the future... All they have done with the SmartGlass is just the similar thing they had on the Windows Phone Xbox Companion.... The only thing i am excited about is the 'Internet Explorer' which is something which should of come years and years ago.....

Its really not that much of a deal to be honest. Used it once and thought it was alright but its not something I would use at all. Due to having a pc and a phone that can go on the internet and be more flexible with multi tasking I won't use it.

Sadly it is US only. who knows, maybe Microsoft may give it us next year.... although, this is Microsoft... so, doubt it.

Can't complain. Why not, I have the relevant tech so I shall at least give it a go. I find it pointless to complain about more features being added. It might not be what you want, but no one is making you use it.
