Assassin's Creed III smashes Ubisoft preorder records

Today, Ubisoft announced that Assassin's Creed III is the most pre-ordered game in the French company's history.

Worldwide pre-orders of Assassin's Creed III already have more than doubled those of Revelations, which previously held the crown of Ubisoft's pre-order record holder.

With a development cycle of more than three years and twice the production capacity of any previous Ubisoft game "Assassin's Creed III is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and this impressive pre-order mark is just a hint of the game's potential" said Geoffroy Sardin.

"When players discover the new features, historical period, characters and gaming experience that the development team has worked so hard to create, we're confident that they will agree that this is the biggest, best Assassin's Creed game yet."

Assassin's Creed III will be available on October 31 on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, November 23 on PC and during the launch window for the Wii U. Preorder your copy today at ShopTo.

Ive played the previous AC games but it's actually the first time ive pre ordered one before. I think its a combination of both enjoying previous games and the new setting they are using. I really hope they cant make a great game set in the new frontier!

i promise you this now, everyone will love AC3 on release but at the end of the year they will say 'its not as good as Dishonoured'. That being said quite interested in this and hoping the Vita one doesn't prove disappointing.

I'm actually going against the general comments here, I love the game, gameplay, story and multilayer however, I feel they have milked the Desmond story a little to much. I'm really happy they have finally changed the setting and different variations of gameplay mechanics as i felt the last game was good but was wearing the whole ezio story a bit thin.....I'm really looking forward to trying this game and the experiencing the multiplayer aspect and the improvements in from previous games. Each of the last games have progressively got better regarding the multiplayer which I felt was a bad move initially when I played brotherhood. Still the story has gripped millions of people and I think it's personally me being impatient and having a whine that they haven't really added anything new in years in relation to the general setting (crowded towns and rooftops etc).......still will be an awesome game

I agree with Goose on this one. The Desmond story has been very good, however a change was needed and hopefully this will happen with the new Assassin's Creed. I agree with the Multiplayer aspect, although I still need to learn how to keep myself hidden better. However I am planning on ordering this, but with Black Ops 2 out and Doom 3 BFG out or coming out, I will wait for this one until Christmas time

Tough choice Beazi, I mean this point over Christmas we are showered with some really great titles and its weather it will be worth getting some of the October titles or waiting for the supposed better titles like black ops or halo 4. Although I agree that doom BFG edition is a great purchase. I really enjoyed doom 3 and seeing as you get 3 titles for less than 30 pounds, this is a bargain. Although I have limited money and I more inclined to get forza and after playing the fifa demo I'm actually going to buy my first fifa game. What's your big purchases over Christmas Beazi?

Got my Freedom Edition coming from Ubishop, really looking forward to it! It'll be a good excuse to tear myself away from Borderlands 2 - I'll just have to get some serious time in before Halo 4 lands a week or so afterwards... :D
