Black Ops II Live Action trailer released, directed by Guy Ritchie featuring Robert Downey Jr

Activision and Treyarch have just announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops II is to get a live-action trailer helmed by visionary director Guy Ritchie and featuring Robert Downey Jr and YouTube favourite FPS Russia.

The trailer, lasting 60 seconds is an explosive high-octane piece, titled "Surprise,". It'll be airing in America tonight during Monday Night Football and the UK can expect to see it on TV during any high profile football games.

"With Call of Duty we are re-writing the rule-book of how games are marketed. This is more than a product launch, it's become a cultural event. And, what Treyarch has created this year with Call of Duty: Black Ops II is nothing short of the most innovative Call of Duty title yet," said Tim Ellis, CMO, Activision Publishing.

"So our mission is to meet this creativity with the most dynamic and far-reaching launch campaign we've ever done. Everything we do is geared toward reaching our fans - the best community in the world ? to celebrate with them the launch this November 13th."

This year, more than 15,000 retail outlets worldwide are scheduled to open their doors at midnight on Tuesday, November 13. Additionally, Activision will support the game through a global outdoor advertising campaign that will run in eight cities and across more than 450 media placements around the world with support from the media agencies OMD and MEC, respectively.

I'm looking forward to Black Ops II but this trailer didn't get me more hyped to be honest, it felt really cheesy and I did feel it kind of enforced the dudebro impression that some people have of Call of Duty.

Wow, that was such a waste lol. FPS Russia is awkward as hell in this trailer.

I wasn't going to but I think I'd rather support Treyarch/Activision rather than put more money into some of the absolute rubbish EA have come up with recently.

Not fussed about live-action trailers, just keep with the gameplay ones so i can see the product that i am buying rather than these ones.

I loved this trailer, although I was more excited to see FPS Russia than I was to see Robert Downey Jr lol. As good as last years trailer though!

Cracking trailer, much like the trailers for MW3. Still not buying the game though as I already know waht to expect. Pretty much as that trailer showed actually. Guy with the best killstreak, sorry scorestreak (why rename it, it's still the same damn thing), will own the game.

It's the perfect director for the target audience. I am assuming Michael Bay was blowing £$%^ up elsewhere.

It's great how proper directors are now all getting into directing video game trailers. Hopefully this will bridge the gap into video game movies... ones that are actually good, that is.

I think they should start getting some high end directors to work on actual video games single players, rather than movie tie-ins. That would be good for the industry to get a lot more movie like games that feel like you are playing through a certain style of movie.

Try and you Robert Downey Jr just because everyone likes him tut tut Activison. Also this mostly like help promote Iron Man too. Like the single player in cod games but get bored of the Multiplayer quickly.

I notice they also used ACDC for the music, which happened to be in Iron Man.....

I don't really think either franchise need help in creating sales, do you?
