Capcom posts net profits of 355%, Resident Evil 6 ships 3.7 million units

Capcom has also posted their recent financial results for Q2 along with some other information. Resident Evil 6 has shipped 3.7 million units worldwide so far, that's shipped, not sold.

GamesIndustry.biz has reported that for the period ending September 30, Capcom?s net sales increased by 55.7% on last year, which is 45.5 billion Yen, roughly $570m/?354m.

Capcom's digital output accounted for a rise in profits of 69% over last year's earnings, roughly equating to 35 billion Yen/?272 million.

Successes such as Dragon's Dogma, which sailed in at over one million copies helped support these figures. On the other hand, the publisher's Arcade division saw a 7% at 5.6 billion Yen/?43 million, during the time period Capcom closed of their owned two arcades.

Have I read this wrong or is the 69% from digital output based on DLC already included on discs. Interesting also to see that terrible reviews had little effect on the sales of Resi 6.

Quite a lot of people I know have went for Resident Evil 6, think I may be one of the very few who hasn't bought it. Think it's one of those games that, if you've played the other ones, then you almost have to keep playing. Good to see CAPCOM doing well.
