FIFA 13 set for major update

EA has confirmed that it'll be releasing another major update for FIFA 13 on PS3 and Xbox 360.

The patch, which will bring fixes to online modes and the career mode, arrived for PC this weekend, while the console version will follow very soon.

Here's the details:

- Online Connectivity in the Arena when loading an Online Seasons match.
- The rare occurrence of the ball becoming invisible during gameplay.
- Audio commentary of player names when the game is set to Czech, Hungarian, Italian, or Polish.
- Connectivity after selecting a position on Online Team Play and Clubs.
- Pass responsiveness in the Passing 'Skill Challenge' Skill Game. The leaderboard for this specific Skill Game has been reset due to a scoring glitch.
- Rare cases of physics elasticity when two players collide.
- In: Ligo Do Brasil, Vasco Da Gama and Palmeiras get authentic kits and team names.
- Authentic kits for Botafago in Ligo Do Brasil.
- Visibility of the radar, indicators, and scoreboards in offline matches after playing in Online Team Play.
- Stability of FIFA Ultimate Team during single player tournaments.
- Softlock when playing a friend in FUT.
- Crashing in Pro Clubs kit selection screen.
- Replays saved to web will not overwrite previously save replays.
- Career Mode items including: Stability when editing a Virtual Pro if the squad is full. Stability when the loaning team rejects the loan buy of a transferred player at the end of a season. Player contracts increased by 1 did not take effect in player's profile. Penalty Kick Takers can be selected prior to a penalty shootout when playing as a Manager. Continuation of player stories after the player is transferred/sold. General stability during gameplay.

FIFA 13 is the most popular game of the year so far in terms of sales, so this patch will likely please a lot of people as EA continues to tweak the game to perfection.

As glad as I am to see this second update, it is very unlike EA to provide much support post launch for a game. You have to wonder if the public outrage at some of the faults and glitches, that were in fact aired on Watchdog twice since launch, have put the much needed pressure on EA to step up and actually care for their customers post taking their money! Good to see and hopefully it will be a trend for all EA games released with glitches & for other publishers (although a lot of other publishers already work hard at post launch updates/fixed).

This is needed, mainly because Career Mode is very sluggish in the second season, with lots of crashes.

What about all the other bugs and glitches that need to be updated?

"The rare occurrence of the ball becoming invisible during gameplay" This one made me laugh the most, i played 10 games of online seasons last night and in 8 of those matches there was no ball. Rare occurrence is as inaccurate as it gets. Glad to see it getting fixed though.

wish they'd fix the annoying criticism of the goalkeeper from the commentary, despite the fact the keeper has played brilliantly and not conceded a goal.

Yeah this is annoying. The commentators clearly don't like goalkeepers.

Looks like they have fixed the issues that BBC Watchdog reported a few weeks ago (i.e. ball disappearing and online connection issues)

I knew holding out to buy this was the right thing to do. I doubt the game will be selling that much cheaper by the time this update is released though

Fifa is one of those games that very rarely gets a price drop at least until a month before the next one is about to release.

How about they make sure the game is in a playable condition before they release it.
