Assassin's Creed first week sales around 3.5 million

Ubisoft is estimating that it's sold 3.5 million copies of Assassin's Creed 3 on its first week on sale; that's around double that of Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

The figure was revealed during the publishers latest financial call, which also revealed that in the six months until September 30, Ubisoft made a loss of 32.3 million Euros.

On the bright side for Ubisoft, this figure isn't likely to be repeated, thanks to the above figures for Assassin's Creed III, the upcoming release of Far Cry 3 and it's Wii U launch titles, which includes Zombi U and the slightly delayed Rayman Legends (due Q1, 2013).

Assassin's Creed III launch to pretty much critical praise, not that this mattered much, thanks to what seemed to be record breaking pre-orders for the game.

I might pick this up eventually, but there is so much good stuff coming out and I have never completed one of these games. I've played Revelations and the first one but missed out the middle two which I understand are the best of the original games
