Silicon Knight have to destroy Unreal games

Too Human developer Silicon Knights lost a legal battle with Epic Games earlier this year surrounding use of the Unreal Engine and now newly found paperwork has revealed that the developer must recall and destroy all games related to the court case.

Games developed by Silicon Knight which used the Unreal Engine include X-Men: Destiny, Too Human, The Sandman, Siren in the Maelstrom and The Box/Ritualyst.

Given that the developer was ordered to destroy all of these games by December 10, this means that all the above games will soon be out of circulation, no doubt increasing their value.

The legal case all came about when Silicon Knights claimed Epic has supplied a botched version of Unreal Engine 3, which was used to develop 2008 Xbox 360 RPG Too Human. The jury ruled against Silicon Knights and the rest is history.

So basically Silicon Knights are trying to blame Epic for them producing a crap game because of a botched version of Unreal Engine 3. What a stupid thing to try and claim. I doubt value will go up that much given that no one will want to buy them in the first place!

All copies of X-Men Destiny and Too Human should be destroyed, they were awful games, never even heard of the other two.

They might be awful games but Too Human @ £4.99 each new sealed is a bargain imo. Just bought 2 brand new sealed copies off of ebay hope they do go up in value as I have no intention of playing them lol.

Can't imagine anyone being so desperate to actually allow Too Human to go up in price. But think people. Gamecube games are out of circulation, but you can still pick up a lot of the crappy games like BMX XXX for £3 brand new and sealed, its only the good and obscure games that are worth anything. Same will go for this. If these were worth playing or buying then they'd be worth a bit of money. If not then they'll not be. And no doubt there'll be places like CEX and GAME that will have them pre-owned anyways.

Am I the only one who actually enjoyed Too Human?

It was okay I guess. I'm all for repetitive dungeon crawls (I like grinding) but something about it rubbed me the wrong way. It felt lacking in something, could never put my finger on it. Need to dust it off at some point and give it another go. Barely made it past 2 hours of gameplay

I was only ever half-interested in playing Too Human, but now that it's forbidden I really want to play it!

I laughed when I heard this story, its a sad end to the developer but they shouldn't have gone for a stupid lawsuit
