Latest UK Charts, w/e Nov 10 - Halo 4 drops straight into No. 1

UKIE have released this week's UK Video Games charts and it makes for good reading if you're a Halo fan. Halo 4 has gone straight to the top of the charts, assassinating last week's top spot holder Assassin's Creed III.

Somewhat surprisingly, Halo 4's first week sales don't beat that of previous entries, Halo 3 or Halo Reach, but still manage to be the 18th biggest SKU launch in UK charts history and beat Assassin's Creed III's multi platform one week sales.

Take a look at the charts below:

1. Halo 4 (Microsoft)
2. Assassin's Creed III (Ubisoft)
3. FIFA 13 (EA)
4. Need for Speed: Most Wanted (EA)
5. Football Manager 2013 (Sega)
6. Skylanders Giants (Activision)
7. WWE 13 (THQ)
8. Borderlands 2
9. Just Dance 4 (Ubisoft)
10. Medal of Honor: Warfighter (EA)
11. Forza Horizon (Microsoft)
12. Moshi Monsters: Moshlings Theme Park (Activision/Mind Candy)
13. Resident Evil 6 (Capcom)
14. Dishonored (Bethesda)
15. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Bethesda)
16. Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask (Nintendo)
17. F1 2012 (Codemasters)
18. New Super Mario Bros 2 (Nintendo)
19. Forza Motorsport 4 (Microsoft)
20. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes

All about the timing really, a week earlier or later and Halo 4 would have to make do with second place, it's only because there were no other big releases that week.

Halo 4 was obviously going to take top spot but I'm glad to see WWE 13 up in the top 10, especially considering the worries THQ are going through right now...

Halo 4 is quality, and it's good to see both that and Assassins Creed III at the top. It'll be interesting to see where Black Ops 2 ends up.
Dead's avatar
Obviously number one.

Nor does FIFA or AC, but they are all big sellers, so it's not really a matter of whether it deserves it.

Honestly, I think CoD deserves the number 1 sales spot, as it provides the experience that most gamers want to play. The reason why CoD is so hugely popular is because gamers have fun playing it, isn't that the most important factor of how good a game is? whether or not people have fun playing it? It's clear the internet gaming community has a lot of hate for CoD but they don't think it through as everyones favourite games are guilty of the arguments leveled at it: "It's the same game" you mean like CS:GO, New Super Mario Bros 2 and Halo 4? no? because you know the differences because you play the games, anyone who says CoD is the same does not play them. "Everything is a military shooter now" that's CoDs fault for being successful? is it not the markets fault for being based on trends and ultimately the developers who follow those trends? (example 343's addition Halo 4 killstreaks.) "It's full of little kids" which is why most players are young adults? and honestly has anyone seen a 100% mature community? So ridiculous some of these are not even worse answering, and for the record the worst communities I have seen have been MOBA ones.

Was there really anything else released last week? At least I dont recall anything really noteworthy. This makes sense. I have noticed that Assassin's Creed Liberation isn't even in the top 20. Guess it being an exclusive didn't pay off.

Number 1 for a week. Tomorrow Black Ops 2 will break sales records and go straight into 1st place, and I imagine it'll take the Xmas number 1 spot as well.

Its quite scary how well Skylanders is still doing seeing as its quite an expensive game when you start buying figures and stuff shows the power or marketing to kids.

Everyone keeps telling to get Skylanders game for the hell of it! I might have to see some reviews of the game for once and get it if its cheaper before Christmas! But FM 2013 really is a great game but they REALLY SHOULDN'T of released it yet, hundreds of bugs I honestly don't get hoe they didn't notice them while they were finalizing the game! Guess that goes with FIFA but we get that every year lol....

I am not surprised at all. Halo 4 is maybe the best game this year. The single player campaign is a blast. I didn't have much time to get into the multiplayer yet, but I will check it out this weekend. I loved the multiplayer in the previous Halo games (especially Halo Reach), so I don't have any doubts that it will be great. Also, the soundtrack is awesome.

I'm happy that Halo 4 took the top spot, there wasn't any doubt in my mind about that, but it will be short lived with Black Ops 2 released tomorrow. To be honest, I'm more interested to see next weeks chart and to see where Declassified on Vita appears. I hope it's a good game and sell Vita's because the system is awesome.

New release FPS goes straight to number one - gaming world in total shock! I'm surprised any of them hit their forecasts - there are only a few that actually offer something vaguely different. Endless sequels don't exactly excite some of us. Some gamers are quite happy to pay full-price every year for the same thing. Surely, there are only so many ways to make firing a pretend weapon feel special?

Dishonored the only non-sequel in the top 20? That's depressing. Even more depressing than XCOM dropping out already. I'm still on first play through of the game (on normal) and still have multiplayer and repeated single player campaigns to look forward to.

Shouldn't have released this the same time as BLOPs 2, having said that I didn't buy either..
