Doom Classic Collection arriving on PSN this week

Doom, Doom 2 and Final Doom will be released on PlayStation Network this week as part of the Doom Classic Complete Collection.

Apparently the titles will arrive on the PlayStation Store, complete with the trophies, which you can see here.

Doom and Doom 2 are already available on Xbox LIVE Arcade, so PSN fans will be happy to see the games release on PS3, even if there was a slight delayed in between.

Once we get more details on price, we'll update this story.

Seems redundant with Doom 3 HD having Doom 1 and 2 on the disc. Still, the more ways there are to get to play Doom, the better. Everyone should play them.

That's what I was gunna say. And may I just say Doom 3D is one of the best games I have ever played, it was in my top 5 at EuroGamer

Yeah, I enjoyed it a lot at the EG Expo. Although the glasses were in sever need of calibration by the time I got to them! One for my list of games to try when I get a 3D TV

A slight delay? Doom and Doom 2 have been out for years on XBLA - although I'm not sure if Final Doom was ever available?

Or even if the PS1 versions of these games were submitted to the PS Store, that'd let us play them on Vita. Money for nothing on ID's part, so I wonder what they're waiting for.

I'm betting this release is only happening because ID already had to put in the work developing these titles for PS3 for the DOOM 3 BFG edition release, so this seperate release is essentially a grab for "free money" on their part.
