Nintendo has revealed that it'll make money on the Wii U as soon as a consumer buys one piece of software.
Speaking in an interview with Mercury News, Nintendo America Boss Reggie Fils-Aime told the site,?"As soon as we get the consumer to buy one piece of software, then that entire transaction becomes profit positive."
Nintendo usually prices its consoles to make a profit, but this is not the case with Wii U. On the bright side, given that profit will return should users buy just one game then it seems likely that the company will make money from the off, after all who buys a console and doesn't order a game along with it?
"In the end, the business model is still to drive the install base of hardware," Fils-Aime concluded. "Then to drive a strong tie ratio with all of the other software and experiences for the consumer. And if we're able to do that, then we will create significant profit for the company."
Have you ordered a Wii U? If so, which games have you ordered along with it?
