Xbox LIVE due 40 new apps before Spring 2013, some launching today

Xbox Live is to receive 40 new dashboard apps from today until Spring 2013.

Microsoft's Major Nelson has the details, revealing the apps which are incoming for each country. Some of these apps will be available from today including ARTE (Germany, France - cultural TV station), video on demand service CinemaNow (Expanding to Canada), tech show CNET (United States, Canada).

In addition, the following will also launch today: Karaoke (All LIVE regions, excluding Japan and United Arab Emirates), which gives access to 8,000 tracks at launch; Maxim (United States); Napster (Germany, United Kingdom), SkyDrive (All LIVE regions), SPORT1 (Austria, Germany) , VEVO (Expanding to Spain, Italy & France) and freeview service Zattoo (Germany).

I own a 360. It's in my room. I own a PC. It's also in my room....I....don't see the point. I also got a mobile phone. Which has half these apps. Portable. Or I could access them via the 3DS/PSV. Also portable. I see little point in these at all.
