FuturLab sign deal to bring games to Vita in 2013

FuturLab, developers of the award winning PlayStation minis title Velocity has announced that it's signed a deal with Sony which will see the platform holder provide funds for the development of content for PlayStation Vita in 2013, with the studio keeping control of its IP.

"We're incredibly excited to be working closely with PlayStation over the next year, bringing our particular brand of twitchy fun to the PS Vita, said James Marsden, FuturLab's Managing Director. "Sony has provided a great package that means we retain full control of our IP, which is a perfect deal for us."

Shahid Ahmad, Senior Business Development Manager at SCEE added:

"We're particularly pleased to be working with FuturLab to bring new and exciting games to PlayStation Vita. FuturLab has a unique and fun approach to entertainment and we see their games as being a fantastic addition to the ever growing catalogue of PS Vita games."

FuturLab is the developer of the critically acclaimed PS Minis title Velocity and recently also released a trio of PS Mobile games, all of which are pretty fun and addictive.

Congratulations to our friends FuturLab, we are very pleased for you.

The Vita is going to need more than a few mobile phone games if it's ever going to stop floundering.

it's getting both Musou 2 and the new Jump game in Japan. But those are also coming for PS3 so dont know if it'll help. I actually got fed up of waiting and imported Persona 4 for it. If the way Atlus are handling SMT on 3DS is any indication then we'll not see it until November this year. (SMT was supposed to be out months ago here but keeps getting delayed) I think that a lot of games thats coming out are coming out on the PS3 too which is putting a lot of people off. Atm Persona 4 is the last thing keeping me attached to the console. I've barely used it compared to the 3DS and I feel it's gonna go the way of the PSP for me. Sitting in the bottom of a drawer and me being too lazy to dig it out so end up avoiding all of the games. Then going back a few years later when games are cheap.
