Tomb Raider's 'Special Secret' announcement is next week

Crystal Dynamics are set to make a 'special secret announcement' soon, something that will "change the way you play Tomb Raider forever." What could it be?

Looking at the words above it seems like a Wii U version is set to be announced, although other speculation could lead you to believe that it'll be a new multiplayer mode or some sort of motion control functionality.

Whatever it is, we are looking forward to December 18, the day on which this 'special announcement' will take place.

What do you think it could be?

Hoping it's a Wii U version. And they announce the collectors edition with the Playarts Kai figure to come out too. (especially considering the figure by itself seems to be coming out around £30-£40 on it's own.

I can see it being a kind of stat tracking system similar to what was used in Resident evil 6.

I think it will be Move support. Gun shooting, bow shooting, using tools - it all could be done with Move 4 better immersion.

Except they already did a Tomb Raider on the Wii, so it wouldn't really change the way you play it would it?

The Move is far more precise than the Wii remote though. But yes, it's unlikely to be that.

How would a Wii U version "change the way you play Tomb Raider forever" exactly? I've played plenty of portable TR games in the past and they never changed anything about the series :/

Likely some sort of extra that requires two screens. like how the Wii version of underworld had some wii-mote stuff

Move more precise yes but does it ise it to its advantage? Nope! Tomb Raider died in my eyes years ago and a reboot is not going to save it. Get Crystal Dynamics to work on more soul reaver games!

" Move more precise yes but does it ise it to its advantage?" Depends on the game. Some did, some didn't, but it had a better ratio of games with properly implemented motion controls than the >1% of Wii games that actually made real use of the Wii remote for something other than elbow hurting waggle.
