FIFA 13 tops 2012 retail chart for PS3

FIFA 13 was the top selling retail game for 2012 on Sony's PlayStation 3.

ChartTrack reports that EA's top sports title saw off challenges from the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Assassin's Creed III to become number one. Interestingly no Sony exclusives made the top 10, although Sony will be hoping that changes this year with big hitters such as God of War, Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls on the way.

Check out the chart below.

1. FIFA 13 - EA
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Activision
3. Assassin's Creed III - Ubisoft
4. Hitman Absolution - Square Enix
5. Need for Speed: Most Wanted - EA
6. Far Cry 3 - Ubisoft
7. FIFA 12 - EA
8. FIFA Street - EA
9. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Activision
10. Resident Evil 6 - Capcom

3 Fifa games in the top 10? not too shabby. Gunna do one of these for xbox games too?

From what I understand (Though I don't know if this is confirmed accurate yet or not) the 360 chart is more or less identical, just with Fifa and CoD swapped and Halo 4 at number 3.

what a disgusting look at the way gaming has become :( no originality, no new IPs just sequels... but they're the sellers and i can't argue with that

It's a little disheartening when I see a couple of games over a year old in the list, and spectacular original IPs like Dishonored are MIA

Dishonored at least did sell very well. There's solace in that.

Thats probably why i don't get them, I'm Co-oP over PvP, and I'm not really a football fan, I don't hate it I'm just not a massive fan, it just isn't the same anymore, it used to be a mans game but now... not so much.

Makes sense, I know people who only buy Fifa and COD for the year. I'd imagine the same will be for the 360 charts too. Maybe Halo creeping in.
