Medal of Honor removed from rotation

EA has announced that Medal of Honor is being "taking out of the rotation," although the publisher will still be 'entering' the yearly FPS race with Battlefield and another as yet announced franchise.

According to EA's Peter Moore "Medal of Honor was an obvious miss. The game was solid, but the focus on combat authenticity did not resonate with consumers." Another problem as far as EA is concerned is that "critics were polarized and gave the game scores which were, frankly, lower than it deserved."

Medal of Honor: Warfighter was a pretty poor game in our opinion. In fact our review put it firmly in the 'mediocre' range, which would put it up there with the previous game in the series, which was also a pretty big disappointment.

What do you think about EA removing Medal of Honor from rotation? It may be back one day, but is this the correct decision for now?

it is the correct decision, they need to go away, sit down and come up with something great; something different. this has worked for other franchises there is now reason it wouldn't work for MOH

Well the last few games didnt go down well so probably the best decision I remember the first game and underground on PS1 were very good games.

they have not made a good MoH in the past 10 years i would say maybe a bit less than that! but this is the right decision the game died years ago should of done it years ago and spent all that time making some new!

A wise decision. Whilst I thought the 'new' Medal of Honour from a couple of years ago was okay (though, horrendously short) Warfighter was a bug-ridden nightmare. I think they need to take some time to just let some good ideas accrue. There's no point in just releasing a game simply because it's another year. Wait until you have something new to offer. I know some people have suggested Medal of Honour just go back to World War II but, I'm not sure. Would that simply be a step backwards?

Dear EA, this is what happens when you unceremoniously get rid of your Producer/Director bfor the end of production. Especially when he was the man with the passion for the game that you needed for it to be a success (I hope Greg Goodrich lands somewhere great next gen) It's also what happens when you decide to let your marketing department have free reign over how the game is advertised and merchandised! I'm a massive fan of MoH, and I loved the story over 2010 and Doorfighter, but the latter was a broken mess of a game that needed another 6 months dev time!

About time, MoH has been struggling for ages, they need to either retire it completely, or give it to someone who can do it justice.

I just feel that Medal of Honor needs to start completely from scratch and take some time away from the gaming market rather than EA constantly releasing these "diet Battlefield" titles that the recent releases have felt, to me anyway.

All i can say is Rising sun. Really loved that game, and that was probably the last MoH game that i enjoyed. Sad to see it go but it was much needed!

This is a sad day for MoH fans! It's been an incredible series but unfortunately it's time say goodbye to a much loved series! I thoroughly enjoyed Warfighter despite all the negativity towards it. Maybe it will return in the future :-)

Comical how EA put one of their own franchises down because 'consumers' (not gamers!) didn't like the 'authenticity' of the game! Like most gamers know what actual combat really is? They're only comparing it to the news and Hollywood movies!

Had it since launch and must of only played it 5 times, so not a bad idea.

Sad to see it get put down, but with bf and cod its got no chance and to be honest if they went away and started from fresh what new can be brought to the table that has not been already done,im still scratching my head on how bf4 is going to be differant and pray its not going to be like cod and copy and paste!!!

MOH has became stagnant and stale. they need new gameplay to excite people, and to stop firing people in charge! it is a shame that these games arent as good as they used to be, but technology moves forward and you either have to keep up with it or stop and call it quits! i think, in this case, it is the right thing for EA to do, but not to remove it altogether, just vamp it up a bit, give it a little extra pinazz :)
