Sony has at last revealed details of Killzone Mercenary for PlayStation Vita.
It's fair to say first of all that the game looks absolutely incredible on Sony's handheld and so it should given that it's powered by the stunning Killzone 3 engine.
New information reveals that this latest game in the series starts just after the ending of the original Killzone, and revisits many of the events from the Killzone trilogy. The game puts you in charge of a mercenary named Arran Danner who will be with you all throughout
all nine of the single-player missions, each of which are nearly an hour in length.
Completed missions also unlock additional replay challenges, with a host of special objectives to accomplish, while the game also boasts a full-fledged multiplayer mode with six maps tailored for eight players and three different game types, including the popular Warzone mode.
Sony has also revealed that every action in Killzone: Mercenary is rewarded. The better you perform, the higher your payout and not just in the single-player campaign, but also in the multiplayer mode. The wages you collect are deposited into a single bank account, so the money you earn in the campaign missions can also be used to buy gear and weapons for multiplayer matches, and vice versa.
Killzone: Mercenary uses the dual-stick FPS control scheme but also makes use of touch controls for actions such as brutal melee, and with tilt controls for accurate sniper aiming.
Killzone: Mercenary is scheduled for release on 18th September 2013. We can't wait.
