Sony announces delay to Vita version of Ratchet & Clank: Q-Force

Sony has announced that the PS Vita version of Ratchet & Clank Q-Force has been delayed.

"As many of you know, when Ratchet & Clank: QForce launched for the PS3 this past November, we announced that the PS Vita version would be coming out later in January 2013 to ensure the best portable Ratchet & Clank experience possible." says a statement from Sony.

"Our friends at Tin Giant have been working night and day to bring Insomniac's PS3 game to the PS Vita system and to provide our fans with a great game. While the original delay has helped us make the game better, we still need more time to bring the game up to the standards expected by our fans.

"In order to do this, the launch date for Ratchet & Clank: QForce for PS Vita has moved to Spring 2013. We realise that this delay may be disappointing for our fans, but please know that we are doing our best to get the game into your hands as soon as possible."

To make up for the disappointment of the delay, Sony has announced that those who have purchased the PS3 version of the game and are waiting for their free PS Vita entitlement will be offered MotorStorm RC as a free download.

Sony says you'll receive a download voucher via email before the end of February, which will be valid for 60 days. To be eligible you'll just have to have played your PS3 copy of the game once, while connected to the internet, by the end of this week.

An update for the PS Vita release will be announced at a later date.

I was going to say it's decent of them to be making amends for the delay with a free game, but considering in the UK the freebie is Motorstorm RC(Decent game and all, but most Vita owners will have bought it already seeing as it costs peanuts) and in the US it's Ratchet Deadlocked(AKA Ratchet Gladiator here in the UK), which will be a new download at release, it seems we're seriously getting the short end on this one. Typical.

The PS3 version wasn't anything particularly great. But I guess to most people this was just a freebie game anyways.

I hate it when they offer you a game as compensation that some people will already have. Its like they are saying sorry to some people but not the others who have already supported them by buying their games. They should just offer some credit on the PSN store and let people buy what they want.

i have to agree there is little point to having a specific game like in the network outage incident

I own this on PS3 and just don't see it as a PS3 title. It is definantely a good one for the Vita I'd say, ok gameplay and the same Ratchet humour. Good for them to offer a free game atleast, they didn't HAVE to offer anything, so just be grateful.
