Origin now available for Mac

EA has announced that Origin is now available for Mac users, allowing many features from the PC version, as well as dual purchases allowing you to play on PC if you own a game on Mac and vice versa.

"Our vision with Origin is to connect your gaming universe online, and today we?re taking a major step in expanding our service to reach Mac-based gamers worldwide," said Michael Blank, VP of production for Origin at EA. "In delivering great game content, connecting the Origin service across PC, Mac and iOS devices, and offering great value to gamers with dual-platform play on select EA titles, Origin is making it easier than ever before for gamers to connect and play anytime, anywhere."

So far games available include Dragon Age 2, Batman: Arkham City, LEGO Harry Potter and The Sims 3.

EA recommends that Origin for Mac users should be running OS X 10.6.8 or newer with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor or better.

Its only for Snow Leopard so at this stage wont work for iPad which I think uses a different operating system designed for small children.

I highly doubt it. Origin is supposed to be EA's version of Steam. It is just a digital store and DRM. So I highly doubt it will be on anything other than PC's and Mac's.

Rumour has it the next 'new' apple thing is a TV with gaming built in. Kind of like a big version of what their desktop PC is now but with a simpler user interface.
