Will they be implementing any fixes for how terrible the campaign is?

Wow. That's a big list of fixes for a brand new game....

Clearly shows the game was rushed and their was no attention to detail

Sadly this is becoming the norm for new games quite scary how big that list is for a new game.

I agree, same story with FarCry 3; it has a huge list of things that were patched, although it wasn't a day 1 patch, it was still a big issue

Day one bugfix patches are fast becoming the norm. But that list of issues on a game that long in dev and delayed, is unacceptable. Jeez!

If you play the game you can tell it's a very cheap game. It may have had a big development time but they clearly had some serious problems during development. Turns out the game wasn't even developed by Gearbox but by Timegate Studios (Section 8)

Did want this day one but from what it sounds like I will be waiting till this drops in price, does not sound like it's worth the full £40 price tag...

Jeez, who cares about updates. The game plays fine now. Be thankful that they can update games these days, and that your not stuck with a glitched game from the get go. Aside from Updates, the game is good! I really enjoy it. people have got to stop comparing it to Halo of CoD just because its an FPS. It is its own game!

A day one update is to fix all the problems that have been found from when a game goes gold, The company's have no choice after this, Plus it costs the 10k to patch a game so we are lucky to see the light of day for patch's on any game's these days

I've heard a lot of first hand reports about this game now and I'm honestly having trouble believing it can be even half as crap as everyone is saying. Then again, I actually saw a couple of copies of it in my local CEX today somehow... so bad it's being traded in before it's even released?!?

I think all the reviews must have been done without the patch, as I've not come across any of the issues they've gone on and on about in the reviews. The games not great technically, but it's not broken or anything and plays OK in campaign and multiplayer. Most importantly though it looks and feels the part and has some great fan service, and that is what matters the most.

GamesTM magazine rated it 4/10 stating "Fails to capitilize on what the licence promises" and "Mechanically the game functions, but the fun of the Alien universe is quickly drained away by what amounts to a mundane shooting gallery through a drab and lfeless world" (replace Alien with Star Wars and it sound like SWTOR :P) I doubt this patch will fix those thoughts. Still, I am still waiting on it for PC from Zavvi which I got with a Turtle Beach headset bundle, making game cost about £10, and still not shipped or even charged, but if I had bought it from shopto I would have it and be playing it now, instead of next week

I don't really put much stock in reviews, most just care about technical proficiency and rave endlessly over tired soulless games just because they are well made. I'd rather be playing this to yet another CoD.

Did anyone read what the Gearbox dev anonymously wrote in reddit?

He concedes the game is bad, but explains why it ended up in such a state. Was quite interesting to hear a guy who worked on the game, be brutally honest.

Granted, he passed a lot of blame onto others, and didn't exactly mention his part in the project, but still.

Shame this game is getting such bad scores, but I still really wanna go buy it.

Quite interesting that he would come out an be completely honest, notice that he waited until after the game would have shipped plenty of copies first though... Can't blame though, all business want their product to sell well.

With so many fixes listed, they look like they've missed one: Re-write entire game code? (I haven't played it and probably won't for months). Fan service is fine in a game, but it has to be as good as its original source - not come across as a crude knock-off of the original.

I dunno why but these problems and bad review's are not putting me off. Still got an urge to play the game. It's probably down to it being an Alien title.

i've heard this is a horrid game, like really bad, shame, i loved the films

i have seen scores as low as 4/10. i think because it is a fps too many people will just compare it graphically and how it controls to cod. Might give it a rental soon to see how much i enjoy it, although at this rate it will be in the bargain bins soon enough.

This could well be the most successful 4/5/6-out-of-10 rated game in history - the more I see of it, the more I want to open up that pulse rifle and hear those chilling alien screams! It might not be the best interpretation (yet) but it looks like it will be the best we're gonna have for a few years more..

This will probably be reduced to £20 at most retailers within a month - will have an early burst of sales and then dissapear from the charts.

I wonder whether the game runs better now after the patch or if people are still experiencing some issues
