The Last Guardian is still in development, Fumito Ueda still involved

On his personal website, Fumito Ueda has posted an update saying that The Last Guardian is still in development and that he is still involved with the project after leaving Sony back in 2011.

"As some of you may have heard, I left Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Studio some time ago to pursue my creative passions. Nevertheless, I continue working on The Last Guardian as a freelance contributor." stated Ueda.

"While it's been a long time coming, The Last Guardian remains under my creative supervision and is still in development by an incredibly talented team."

He went on to say that the release date of the game is "solely decided by Sony Computer Entertainment, not myself." and that we should keep an eye out for an official announcement.

The Last Guardian currently has a release date of "When it's done" and is still a Playstation 3 exclusive.

Like anyone cares anymore of waiting? I'll be happy when they have a solid release date and it looks like it's going to come to fruition in 2 weeks time or so. It'd be cool if they announced it as a PS4 opener. But I can't see it.

We may see it as a PS4 title, depends on how far development went and whether it'd make more as a launch title or a PS3 title

I've considered cancelling my preorder on here a few times but I still have faith. Have been waiting (personally) for this game for nearly 3 years and counting now :P

This game has been delayed for far too long, theirs no point in them in actually getting our hopes up until they actually release the game

Doesn't bode well when someone says they've left to follow 'creative passions' when a game they're involved in still isn't finished. Does having the word 'Last' in the title seem to delay (or doom) these games?

Well, considering that Duke Nukem Forever finally came out (whatever you think of the actual game itself), anything's possible......
