Nintendo Direct returns next week to talk third party 3DS games

Nintendo is to host another Nintendo Direct next week, this time focusing on new third-party titles for the 3DS.

Nintendo spent some time yesterday talking about first party games such as Donkey Kong Country Returns, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team and Mario Golf: World Tour.

According to ONM next week episode is for Japan only, however we may hear of some titles which will eventually make their way into the west.

Now this is interesting, I thought it was alittle odd if not unexpected that most of the titles they announced yesterday were first party titles. I'm expecting big things from this announcement, especially since Nintendo made such a big deal about have strong third party support before the 3DS's release.

Is this beginning a new weekly thing from nintendo? Similar to playstation access and whatever MS does?

Maybe, although PS Access doesn't do much of announcing what games are going to come out but more of the games that are already out

Will be interesting to see what's in store, but I usually stick with first party titles on the 3DS.

Me too, Mario and Zelda games would always be my all time favourite games

resi evil 3ds 2, make some magic happen nintendo

Not going to happen. Revelations did badly on 3DS, hence the porting of it to so many other consoles.

Did it do bad? I'm not sure myself but isn't this just like how they did with Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles for Wii. They made an HD version for PS3 and 360. I'm pretty sure they just want to bring Resident Evil to all consoles as they have done so with all the previous ones

Well, Iwata already admitted they're having trouble getting third parties to agree to exclusives for their consoles anymore, so I wouldn't be expecting much from this.

They wouldn't feel the need to host a Nintendo Direct just for 3rd party games if they didn't feel they had enough to show.

Well, it could just be a lot of talk rather than show as that last Wii U direct was... but they've had 3DS directs before where all they did was show games that everyone already knew about. Plus, keep in mind, Nintendo are going to be PARTICULARLY desperate for attention for the next while for obvious reasons. So expect lots more of these directs in the near future.

For Japan. Could be cool. I wonder if we'll see a new One Piece game this time. No doubt they'll be focusing on Dragon Quest and Monster Hunter games.

Which is ridiculous since it came out in the states on the 4th this month. Once again we get the shaft because we're grouped with the whole Europe desipte being an English speaking country..

Completely agree with this. It's getting pretty bad in the way that the UK is being punished when it comes to games for Europe. (and I think most American ones are in French and Spanish. So it's Germany and Italian we are waiting on.) It's not as if they translate from American to English But then again. There's the likes of Persona 4 getting released when it's been out in America for months AND cheaper to simply import (unless you get the scam that is the Royal Mail handling fee on your customs)
