Lost Planet 3 set to release June 28th

Capcom and Spark Unlimited have just announced that Lost Planet 3 will release on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on June 28th in Europe and June 25th in North America.

Here's the official blurb:

"The extreme conditions that characterized the Lost Planet series return, harsher than ever before, with the release of Lost Planet 3 across North America on June 25 and in Europe on June 28. The latest chapter in the Lost Planet series will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC."

Capcom were also nice enough to send us a brand new trailer for the game which you can see below.

"The trailer continues the story of Jim Peyton's time on E.D.N. III as a NEVEC employee seeking out further sources of the planet's energy supply T-Eng. During one of these missions, Jim comes under attack from E.D.N. III's indigenous Akrid, causing his Utility Rig to fall down an icy fissure, leaving him unconscious and injured. Jim wakes to find himself in what appears to be a secret base, hidden beneath the planet?s frozen surface. On discovering he was rescued by one of the base's inhabitants, Mira, the daughter of Snow Pirate leader, Soichi, Jim realizes that NEVEC are not the only human inhabitants of E.D.N. III."?

Wow, I figured this had been cancelled... Looks eerily similar to Dead Space 3 at this point I must say :)

I tried the first one a long time ago & found it very difficult to get into, The story was lost in a badly put together game. I have the second on my shelve but have 0 intention of playing it.

I've never been in to Lost Planet. I remember it being an XBOX exclusive and so when it got put on the PS3, it hadn't got enough positive referal to peak my interest like a series of Bioshock or Mass Effect did. The box art was nice for the second, caught my eye in the shop but I remembered back. The trailer looks a bit....mixed up if anything.

I remember this being reduced to a fiver within days of release. I bought the 2nd one and sold it back to Grainger who offered me £40 for it. Game itself was pap. Didn't think people cared enough for it to warrant a new one. (same could be said about Army of Two however

LP series is one of the greatest wasted efforts of human beings. I paid 10 quid for the first game, it sucked. Watched the second game trailers, gameplays, they sucked even bigger. I think they should stop this nonsense. Some people in CAPCOM need a good slap right in their faces.
