Dead Space 3: Awakened dlc dated

Dead Space 3: Awakened will be released for Dead Space 3 on March 12.

This is the first batch of DLC for the game and sees Isaac and John Carver exploring the CMS Terra Nova's tower, which is now packed with enemies intend on carrying out human sacrifices.

"We had a vision for what we wanted to make with our DLC, Producer Shereif Fattouh told Joystiq.

"The nice thing about it is it kind of married into what some of the more hardcore community guys were asking for. They didn't feel that there was as much horror as they would have liked in Dead Space 3.

"It really fit well with what we were planning to do with this DLC in trying to create a creepy, scary atmosphere that we still think is a big part of the Dead Space franchise and has always been a part of it."

Apparently you'll get several hours of play out of Dead Space 3: Awakened.

If you don't have Dead Space 3 already then you can order below.

Was this the plan all along, save the scary for DLC so as to screw a few extra quid out of everyone that was disappointed with the lack of scares?

Why does it need to be that they decided to screw fans out of money and not hey look a nice extra campaign that will last several hours for 800 microsoft points which is actually pretty good considering how much other people charge for costumes and so on.

Because it's what people wanted, but didn't get, from the main game.

I miss when DLC was add on content and often non cannon, now DLC seems to be either finishing the story that should have been on disc, or cannon meaning that if you didn't buy it then you will be missing stuff for the sequels a la The Da Vinci Disappearance (which I never bought)
