SimCity server status page now live

EA and Maxis have launched an official SimCity server status page, showing the current condition of all regional servers.

At last glance the page wasn't actually working, but if you head over now it seems to be all go.

SimCity players, specifically in the U.S, have has much trouble accessing the game, so this page should give people an idea if their server is free or not.

Perhaps one of our biggest problems with SimCity is that if the server you started your game on is full, you can't access your same city from a different server. That seems like a rather large oversight to us. Apart from this issue though, SimCity is a fantastic game and we love it, as you can read in our review here.

the ability to move your city across to another server seems like something that should be there by default. Essentially locking you to one server seems a little daft! THe status page is a good idea though. A slight price drop (40 notes for a PC game? no thanks) and some patches for server balancing and I might consider purchasing. I'm kinda feeling like I'm missing out.

I just bought SimCity4 for like a tenner. I think in about 4 years it might go free to play if they don't drop the server situation, like TOR where you can only have 1 city and only access 1 server, and you can't build 'special' buildings like fire stations or use trains or toll booths
