Xbox Entertainment Awards site has security breach

Remember how we posted yesterday that Microsoft had announced its brand new Xbox Entertainment Awards? Well, if like me you voted, then chances are your security details are out in the wild.

MCV's Ben Parfitt first alerted me to the fact that my details were on there, while the site itself has also posted a screen-grab of the breach sent in by one of its readers. It shows the names of 2,892 entrants.

"We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with the Xbox Entertainment Awards landing page and have taken the site offline while we investigate," says a standard response to the breach from Microsoft.

People visiting the page were free to delete or edit each voter's entry before it was taken down.

We'd recommend changing your password as a precaution.

Pretty glad I didn't vote now, at least this was an optional thing and not what happened to PSN

And how is this better? As far as I remember, after PSN breach no actual user data was leaked out in the open. All the hackers (presumably) got was a chunk of encripted mumbo-jumbo. Am I wrong?

Microsoft unleashed this so they could take it down for 'maintenance' because the Kinect titles weren't proving as popular as they want

I didn't vote for a single kinect game. They deserve no recognition whatsoever.
