Yoichi Wada resigns from Square Enix

Following news of a predicted 'extraordinary loss' for the year ending March 31, Yoichi Wada, President And CEO Of Square Enix, has resigned.

We revealed this morning that Square would be restructuring in order to try and make the company profitable again and it seems that this may be the first step as Wada steps aside to make way for "management reform". Yosuke Matsuda will now take over as President and CEO.

As reported earlier, the Company expects to incur loss of approximately 10 billion Yen from restructuring efforts. These changes are to be recognized as extraordinary loss for its fiscal year ending March 31, 2013.

About 4 years too late. The guy should have been shitcanned after the FFXIV fiasco, but for some reason he was not only allowed to stay but he was allowed to literally put the entire company's in-house developments in Japan on indefinite hold so they could fix his mess. He's done too much damage I fear, the only reason they're still in business at this point is because of Eidos I'm betting.
