ShopTo reveals extraordinary growth results for 2012

ShopTo.net is pleased to report extraordinary growth results for 2012, despite the UK videogame market seeing sales down by 26%.

Data from the official chart company, Gfk Chart Track, shows an increase of 45% in market share in videogame software sales for ShopTo.net, which is backed up by a 63 percent increase in customers as we move further into 2013.

The first week UK market share for ShopTo.net for recent games include:?

(Percentage of overall UK Sales)

- Castlevania (24%)
- Metal Gear Rising (13%),
- Persona Golden (25%),
- Bioshock Rapture (36%),
- Ni No Kuni Collectors Edition (31%)
- Anarchy Reigns with a (26%).

Hardware sales, led by Xbox360 peak promotions and a very strong Nintendo Wii U launch were also robust for ShopTo. With an 8.6% Wii U market share during the launch period which helped us achieve a 486% growth in console market share for 2012.

"We?ve had a fantastic 2012 and are delighted with these figures which confirms our strategy for great promotions and extraordinary value on entertainment purchases is reaping rewards." said ShopTo CEO, Igor Cipolletta. "We have started 2013 with equally amazing results and believe it will continue with PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 just around the corner.

In the last year consumers have been turning to online retailers as the High Street entertainment retailers such as GAME, HMV and Blockbuster struggled with administration issues.

"The High Street is an expensive place to buy your entertainment and it is very inconvenient for people that now have to travel long distance for their games or movies." says Igor, "We have benefited from consumer confidence in our proprietary inventory dispatch system which ensures they receive their item the day after ordering."

We'd like to extent a big thank you to all our loyal customers for your continued support.

Key Facts:

Overall Market Share increases by 45%
Hardware Market Share increases by 486%
Number of customers up by 63%

It made me lose focus and start thinking ShopTo was run by a mad scientist.

Unless I can't help it I always order from Shopto. The last two games I bought that I didn't get from Shopto or Imported are Assassin's Creed Anthology and The Witcher 2 both from Amazon (I got The Witcher 2 Signed)

I've had to buy the Injustice Collectors through amazon, which worked out ok it started at £80 and i had a £35 pound voucher. With their price promise i always pay the lowest price and it went down to £59 at one point so i'm quids in £24 for the collectors is sweet

I buy from whoever is cheapest, I also factor in reward points discount. Like Boob Raider is cheaper on ShopTo including my points, but it's cheaper elsewhere without.

it's the price always the major factor now? I think customers start looking for factors which made the difference (service, customer support etc)

Only time I don't use Shopto is when there's a major difference in the price. Like the Tomb Raider edition which was £20 cheaper on Amazon. If it's only a couple of quid I'll go with Shopto since I know 100% that it'll arrive very quickly as opposed to Amazon's services.

You deserve the success. ShopTo has established a good reputation and for good reason, excellent value for money (the majority of the time) and a delivery promise that satisfies us demanding gamers. You know that gamers like to play their games on release and that is what you strive for. However, you go the extra distance and we get our games delivered a day or two earlier than the high street. Kudos. I hope you continue your success this year and beyond and never lose sight of your ethos. To go head to head with an online retailer like Amazon and do very well is an amazing achievement.

Yeah I always come to shopto get before anywhere else the only retail game I brought elsewhere was the NarutoSD game for the 3DS which wasn't stocked here for some reason. :)

Well thats what happens when you price well and actually stock the tiles available and not just used like the bricks and mortar shops. So often its been this site for smaller releases I have no chance of buying offline.
