Wednesday Chat - April 3rd

Ahoy everyone!

It's the third day of April and I think it's about that time to get another chat thread up.

So let's start off with... What's your proudest gaming related achievement or moment?

and how about...What's your gaming area like? Mancave? Quiet corner? Describe it below!

Proudest moment was finishing Killzone2 on Elite difficulty, TWICE because the damn apocolyPS3 wiped half my trophies! It also wiped my top 1% in the world trophy for KZ2 MP, but anyone that has tried for that knows exactly why I aint trying for it again! No mancave anymore, comfy sofa in the living room and a 47" TV

That's a tuffie, I've had so many I have lost count. most of my favourite moments were not accompanied with an achievement. Completing halo 3 and Reach on Mythic was a blast but god damn hard

One that comes to mind is beating the first two enemy's on Infinite Undiscovery while playing on Infinity mode without cheesing it (I didn't know you could at the time)

best gaming accomplishment, beating ruby and emerald weapon for the first time on final fantasy VII, took me forever, and my gaming area was the spare room until my son came along and now the new baby! now its a corner in my bedroom on a 21inch monitor why i have a big 51 inch 3D tv in my living room which i cant use for my games no more :( is there much point buying the next gen lol!

Proudest Achievement would be reaching #3 in the world in FIFA 09 in Be a Pro mode with my club as we played as Bayern. Alot of the time it was me as Podolski, my mate as Toni and my other mate as Borowski, but we also had a Ribery, van Bommel and Schweinsteiger(When he was a young RM) from time to time. We crushed it. - My living room is now my gaming arena, with my PS3 games sitting in shoe boxes and under the TV as we're about to buy a new tv unit. A bean bag and a 51 inch TV is the choice, with a simple switch to sky when I need a break.

I'd have to say my favourite gaming related moment was probably meeting Hideo Kojima, managing to get MGS4 signed and even high fiving him back in 2008. Nearly had his security team pounce on me though. :D

My MAN room directly ajoins the living room seperated by double doors... its supposed to be the dining room, but i made a deal with my wife, she has say over the decor of the entire house if i can have that as my man room. 2x double reclining leather sofa's 42inch telly, PC hooked upto it PS3 and 360 hooked up. Bluray book case, picture of the avengers hanging over the tv. its bliss!

Proudest moment would be Insanity difficulty with my Bro-mander Shepard on the Mass Effect Trilogy, much rage was had. My gaming station is a 51" 3DTV on top of a black Ikea desk with my PS3 and 360 in the little pockets with me sitting on a sofabed in the corner of my bedroom.

My "Mancave" (oh, the Bro's Before Ho's brigade will be up in arms about that one! lol) is simple, 42" Sony Bravia, Sony surround sound system, slim PS3, laptop, PSVita & a lovely leather computer desk chair with matching foot stool! Ah, heaven! If only I were there now, and not at work!

Oh and proudest gaming moment would probably be finishing Dead Space 2 on Hardcore mode. It was such a slog for the first half, trying to get to chapter 7 or 8 without dying so I had a decent first save point then cracking on from there. Great game mode, made you strategize so much more than normal. Loved it.

High point: The original Army of Two playing co-op on the training mission where you have infinite grenades and I discovered you can knock your friend over with them. May have taken us far far longer then it should have to complete that mission.

The whole point of a Man-cave is the new evolution of the Shed! it is a space that the man call call his own, my other half like @rossthebassist takes the rest of the god damn house to decorate

Proudest achievement: Maxing out all achievements on Warriors Orochi 2. It wasn't a hard game, just really grindy. It took me ages to do it because I kept trying to give up but i'm glad I did it. Gaming area: I have a wooden unit opposite my bed (so if I sit on my bed, against the wall, I have a perfect view). On the unit is my tv, xbox 360, ps3 and sky box. I also have a bookshelf I keep my games on within reaching distance. My older consoles are set up in my anime room. (Basically just the spare bedroom but I keep all my anime in there along with dvd player, original xbox, n64, gamecube and ps2.)

Nox - Insanity was easy, unless you do it with a brand new character with no rank or decent weapons and powers... then it can get a little annoying with husks that just wont go down

My gaming area is just my living room, couple of consoles under the telly and a few large DVD racks full of games. Proudest gaming moment, afternoon tea with Jeff Minter, followed by a session on his arcade machines.

Gaming achievement I am most proud of: well, my proudest achievement is that I have a nice balance between gaming time, working time and time to spend with my girlfriend, friends and family. As for in-game achievement.. well, all of the achievements have a special place in my heart, but from the more recent ones I would like to mention: "BFA" achievement on Darksiders II, "Devils never cry" and "And welcome to Hell" on DmC. Concerning my gaming space: it's my living room, with nice 42'' Sony TV and a combo of devices below (Blu-Ray player, XBOX360, and DVD player and VCR for old times sake ;) )

Holy Christ! I just spent two hours in a meeting talking about bloody printing! After 30 minutes, I was so desperately bored I was trying to figure out a way to get out of it. Possibly by faking my own death!

I keep most of my stuff in my Living room. Two PlayStation 3's, an Xbox 360, Wii, Gamecube, Xbox etc. I've got two Bookcases full of films and games, and a cupboard in the back room, filled with about 150 PS2 games, miscellaneous films, handheld games and a PS2. I've also got draws full of accessories and a couple of Nintendo DS's and a PSP. I think Colin has seen some of it, as he's on my Facebook Friend's list....

That is a pretty impressive amount of stuff! All my kit is in boxes in the loft! Every console from my NES up to my PS2 excluding an Xbox 1 and a 360! The PS3 may be the only one I don't keep, only because all my games etc will be traded in against the PS4

Dunno about my biggest gaming achievement to be honest. Trophy Wise getting every last one on Smash Bros Brawl maybe. Or Plat on Nier. Gaming setup. I'll do one better and show mine. http://www.imagebam.com/image/810468247000550 There's a bit of a theme going. Can you see what it is?

Anything cheaper in the MS sale, I have a few hundred points left over from the Xbox entertainment awards payout. Also Defiance never turned up in the post, but I used the time to finish the story on Lego City, 30% complete so far, still so much to do, and I'm really looking forward to the 3DS game now, it won;t be on the same scale, but as long as it has the same humour and gameplay it should be great.

Franky really annoys me in Lego City. I guess he's comedy for the kids but kinda feels a bit more sinister than that. Nice to see Lego City Police taking on care in the community however.

Yup. One Piece is the theme. Well. RoCho at least XD Don't really own much merch of other chars as I do them. Japan charts are in by the way. Wii U is up to 22,829 sales last week. (doubling what it was on previously and managing to outsell the PS3.) With both Dragon Quest X and Game and Wario charting. PSV continues it's drop in sales again, going to 31,795 from 41,073 last week. Although only Muramasa Rebirth was a new title for it (an excellent Wii title if anyone interested btw) Luigi kept on top of the chart. One Piece dropped from 2 to 4 on the PS3. Not much else to say really. 3DS decimated everything as per usual. Microsoft sold a whopping 598 360s I suppose.

I've got a stack of Xbox arcade games that I got for free still to play, will have to put some time in to them this month, xbox live rewards are paying out on how much you play arcade games as well as buying them this month.

I'm hoping we get the feel of KZ2's multiplayer once Shadow Fall comes out. KZ3 was great, but it felt lacking compared to 2. But I am very biased towards KZ2's MP. It's my favourite online experience outside of Battlefield!
