DICE 'very interested' in eSports support for Battlefield 4

DICE's general manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson has mentioned that DICE will be looking very closely at how to fit eSport support into the next Battlefield game, which launches later this year.

Troedsson mentioned his desire for eSport support during a recent YouTube interview with YT member Yuetin09.

"Yes, we're very interested in this area...and we're definitely going to see what we can do there," said Troedsson. "I can't talk about the specifics because we're not announcing them, but I can say that e-sports is an area that we are very interested in."

"There are some people that actually see this as a new phenomena, and that's not true either. For the people that have been involved in this scene it's been around for a long time. It's just recently that it's really started to take off more in semi-mainstream, online media etc. which is amazingly cool by the way."

Do you watch any of the eSports stuff? Ever contributed or taken part in any eSports events?

Just basing this off the amount of cash you can make on the FIFA tournaments for being 'decent', a good player can seriously make a good amount of money to set himself up in life which is quite good. Good players can easily make $10,000 per tournament and get to visit all around the place.

Probably gonna be what is in BF3 with the 'clan matches' where you schedule a match with another team fairly dead feature for the most part, Virgin Gaming is not the way forward

It's a bad sign when games start to focus on all this esports and MLG stuff, just ends up ruining the game.

e ports are extreme sports right? Because if they had generic war guy doing snowboarding while shooting someone on a jetpack it may make the game slightly more interesting.
