UPlay hacked, Far Cry 3: Blood dragon downloaded for free

A group of Russian hackers have managed to find their way into Ubisoft's UPlay and download brand new title, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, for free.

As you may know, the title above isn't even out for another month, however due to the hack it has already made its way to torrent sites.

According to Gameranx, hackers have found a method that tricks uPlay into thinking the user owns games that they have not actually purchased, this means that they can then get direct download links to versions of the game that do not need to be online in order to play.

Ubisoft is currently looking into the matter, although in the case of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon it may be a little late.

but Ubi are already pro-AODRM, what's next Always Online DRM EXTREME; where it takes a blood sample every 5 minutes to make sure you aren't someone else?

maybe if people stopped giving the hackers press coverage, and therefore ego boosts they wouldn't bother as much.. true it's nice to know about somethings, but then by saying it's available for free you are basically telling people who know about torrents where to get it for free thus meaning you miss out on sales for those lucky people, who then most likely loos there accounts via a ban.. also can't believe your facebook admin banned me..

That'd be like saying don't give murderers press coverage because others may kill to get in the papers. The news is meant to be reported.

People who know about torrents and download games will find the game regardless of press coverage. That is some pretty staggering naive thinking there my friend.

Normally I'd be annoyed. But Ubisoft deserved some sort of slap with the Rayman fiasco. So I'm ok with this.
