Deep Silver confirm no support for Wii U

Deep Silver, the publisher of upcoming titles such as Saints Row 4, Metro: Last Light and Dead Island: Ripetide, have confirmed that it has no plans to release its games on the Wii U.

Speaking in an interview with Game Informer, the COO of the company confirmed that it currently has no plans to support Nintendo.

"Not Wii U. With other companies, I've been very successful with Nintendo. With Wii U, the Nintendo market right now and their audience is not who we reach best. It's not something we're entertaining in the near or foreseeable future."

Later in the interview he did confirm support for the PS4 and the new Xbox console, adding "you'll see us there, but not on the first day."

What do you think of this Wii U fans?

It could sound like Deep Silver see Wii U/Nintendo fan base as Kids, since the 3 titles mention above is more target the teen/adult gamer.

Nintendo is more of a Nintendo-game console really. You're more likely to sell third-party titles better on the PS3/Xbox. They probably don't see a need for the touch screen as well yet, so don't want to try and shoehorn. Hopefully they'll come to the table in the future and have a re-look at it.

Great, another publisher we're going to have to put up with completely toxic sentiment about from Nintendo fans at every turn. This is the only sensible approach a company of their level could and should take towards a console doing as badly as the Wii U is, like it or not.

I think it's a poor show on Deep Silver's side of things. But I am clueless as to the architecture of the WiiU. Maybe it's too complex a machine to dev for and it just wouldn't be worth the returns they got. Just a guess

Not bothered, Dead Island was a bit crap and Metro was boring too, I'll get Saints Row 4, but nothing else they are doing floats my boat.

Dead Island was awesome - Full of glitch, but most of the glitch was awesome looking back and Saints Row 4 gonna be shit to play in August

Not really bothered. Saints Row 3 was poor compared to 2. And Dead Island was just garbage. Won't bother picking them up on the PS3 either. No point putting titles like this on the Wii U since they'll only complain about the lack of sales for it. To be honest I can't see these titles selling amazingly well on the other two consoles either.
