Adam 'Deal with It' Orth leaves Microsoft

Adam Orth, Microsoft Studio's Creative Director last week took to Twitter to suggest that people upset by rumours that the next Xbox would require an always-on Internet connection should just "deal with it" and move on. Now it seems like it's him that's moved on.

Reports around the internet suggest that Orth has now left his role at Microsoft. It's not clear if he was pushed or left of his own freewill. It's a shame really, as all he was doing was giving his personal opinion. But it seems the internet can't handle people having an opinion, so yet another talented person moves on.

The next Xbox is expected to be announced soon. Whether or not it includes an online connection or not remains to be seen.

Its fine to give your opinion but he was representing his company and should of done it in a more professional way. His comments had such a negative effect on the next console. He may have gotten away with it if the console had been annouced first before his rant.

Indeed Bindiana. It was more his comments like 'why would I want to live there?' that put a damper on his Microsoft role really. Jokes are funny and all, but when you're representing your company, especially one as big as Microsoft, you need to know to tow the company line.

I find it quite ironic that after having to deal with Microsoft numerous times during this current gen, Orth's attitude seems to be mirrored by Microsoft on all levels. The difference being that we didn't have to call the 0800 number to suffer Orth's abuse.

It's not nice to hear about someone losing their job for being aggressively dumb on the internet, but the guy did come off as a total asshole in some of those posts he made ("Why would you live there?" etc). He's probably a decent guy in real life I know, and only acts like a dick when he's online... but the problem there is that he's ALWAYS online. (This joke c/o internet memes)

I do hope he said "This isnt fair!" when he was getting pushed. To which the person getting rid of him replied "Deal with it".

I dunno, maybe he was already gonna be leaving. And thought he'd take a jab at Microsoft while doing so?
