Rumour: Ryse a "Major" launch title for next Xbox

A new report suggests that Ryse will be a "Major" launch title for the next Xbox.

According to The Verge, the game has been reworked for next-gen, taking advantage of Kinect to allow players to "slash and kick at enemies." It seems Microsoft is betting big on Ryse, with the site being told that it's "designed to be Microsoft's new 'Gears of War/Halo mega launch title."

In addition, the site also claims that three other titles will arrive at launch. First is a new "super life-like" Forza title, while we'll also see a new zombie game, and a Pixar movie-style game. Third party support is also expected to be strong, especially in relation to the 'FPS' genre.

Apparently Microsoft will also make the switch to currency in the next-gen, rather than having the points system it has now.

If a dev steps forward we'll know pretty much exactly what the game will be like.

Major launch title revolving around kicking and slashing at enemies. Doesn't sound very major to me.

Kinect headbutting simulator isn't likely to be too major at launch but a new Forza probably would be.

I was thinking last night that MS need to ditch their points system. Games are in pounds but DLC is in points. It's one thing Sony got right!

I don't think hardcore gamers will be won over with a Kinect launch game, but who knows casual gamers may go nuts for it. I'm really looking forward to seeing the presentation for the new X-box, there has been so many rumours recently.
