Monster Hunter Online announce for China

Capcom has revealed Monster Hunter Online on PC, although at the moment it only seems set to be released in China.

Powered by CryEngine 3, the game will feature destructible environments, monsters that interact with items in the landscape and a brand new monster known as 'Caeserber' which attacks hunters with logs picked up from the ground.

The game is actually a co-development between Chinese developer Tencent and Capcom, so it'll probably not make it over here, no doubt much to the dismay of fans of the series.

You can check out the official website here.

Didn't China get an exclusive Dungeon Keeper too? Gotta love EA for killing that franchise for Harry Potter tie-ins

Even if this iteration doesn't get an english release, once the CE3 framework is in place with an engine that isn't stuck at PS2 level assets and level design it'll make transitioning the series to next generation consoles so easy that Capcom would be idiots not to do it. Then again, considering how many outright dumb (Often self sabotaging) moves that company makes there's also a very good chance they'll invest all this money in a HD upgrade for all the game's assets and then just do nothing with the end product.

This makes me sad... I really want to play a monster Hunter game, but I can't bring myself to buy a Wii U just for one game...

Then get the one for the PSP, Wii or 3DS?

You got a Wii or 3DS? The Wii U game is more or less a straight port of the game that was originally on those two consoles. It'll work out much cheaper just getting it on them.
