Wii U Virtual Console launch line-up confirmed

This week's will see the launch of a new system software update for the Wii U and along with it, the launch of Virtual Console.

Eight titles have already been confirmed for the new download service and these are:

- Balloon Fight
- Donkey Kong Jr.
- Excitebike
- Ice Climber
- Kirby's Adventure
- Punch-Out!!
- F-Zero
- Super Mario World

More titles are on the way, so don't worry if the above list looks a little bit light at the moment.

Come on Nintendo, if you are just going to re-release stuff from the Wii eshop then dont be surprised if the reaction is 'meh'.

So they're once again going to drip feed releases at a rate of a couple of titles a week again? I guess those of us who have been expecting some sort of unifed Virtual Console with access to at least all first party releases on past consoles accessable from all their currently available consoles were seriously overestimating Nintendo's ability to evolve in the digital marketplace.

Meh, already got all of them on 3DS or Wii U, sort out some more titles, preferably some SNES and N64 ones.

A decent starting line up but need to add more since these titles have been released on the Wii eshop. Has Nintendo mentioned how much or how often they intend on updating the Virtual Console with games?

Wasn't expecting much since the 3DS is still going slow in terms of Virtual Console releases. But if you are like me and got the 30p titles then that only leaves Super Mario World, Ice Climber and Donkey Kong Jnr (which may or may not appear in the next few weeks.) But it's only the start so we can at least see them again. And if people are desperate they can always just go to the Wii Virtual Console that is BUILT INTO the Wii U and get the other titles and then upgrade if they desire when the time comes.
