PS Webstore now allows for auto downloading to PS3

Sony's web front PS Store now allows you to autodownload on your PS3, meaning you can stack up the games and movies you'd like to watch away from home and start downloading them as soon as you turn on your PS3.

The feature won't switch on your console and begin downloading immediately, however, if you're a PlayStation Plus member, you can set your console to switch on and automatically download any updates or content at a specified time.

You can also use remote play to control your PS3, which could be another way to start any downloads you have queued up.

This new auto-download feature also applies to the PS Vita.

The PS Online Store can be found here.

Rolled in with PSPlus auto-download, that's bloody awesome! Took them a few years, but Sony are finally catching up with MS's decent features! Next gen is gonna be killer if they keep guinea pigging on the PS3. Your move Microsoft :)

So I've just tried it, works OK. When you purchase something you instantly get the choice to download it. The only problem I've found so far, the option I get is to "Download to all PS3 devices" so i'll have to cancel anything I don't want downloaded to my brother's PS3 after it's downloaded to me. A minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience none the less. The option to name machines and chose which one to send to would be great, but I aint going to moan to hard, an excellent addition.

It is all good to me really. I usually just use the web store online as a quick way to add the PSPlus games to my basket, but this way I'll use the Online PS Store much more frequently as it means I'll be able to do my things like activate online passes without having to waste time on the PS Store on the system.

I've texting with my work at home brother, he's testing the system out for me! haha! Seems really easy to do, the Vita queue is great too!

I'll probably never use this feature, but it's quite cool. Maybe one day.
