Nintendo Wii U firmware out now

The latest Nintendo Wii U firmware update is available now, bringing the expected new features, including reduced load times.

Nintendo has warned that the download could take up to an hour, however it'll be worth it for all the new features being added.

So what's new?

- Standby function added to download and install software while the system is powered off/
- Ability to transfer data between USB storage devices and manage data more easily by selecting multiple targets.
- Ability to adjust the screen size to fit your TV.
- MiiVerse now supports the Wii Remote, Wii U Pro Controller, and Classic Controller.
- Minor changes made to handwritten posts.
- Purchases from the eShop will arrive with updates rather than requiring a second download.
- Browser now supports the Wii Remote and Wii U Pro Controller.
- Ability to manually specify your search engine, too.
- Ability to load directly to the Wii menu by pressing B.

The full patch notes are available directly from Nintendo.

About time, been waiting all week for this, wish they'd add flash to the browser though, it's the only thing wrong with it.

I have been checking daily for this update all week, glad its here now. Has anyone noticed, is there a significant difference in Wii U loading times after the update?

Yep, everything seems to be running a bit quicker now, makes switching between the browser and Miiverse less of a chore.

So much more quicker. I didn't think it was that bad at first but wow. Makes the other consoles feel soooooo slow in comparison

Please describe the nature of the abuse:
