Beck announces plans for acoustic album

Singer-songwriter Beck has announced plans to release an acoustic album next year.

A lot of you may be familiar with his name thanks to his work on the Scott Pilgrim Vs The World soundtrack, but the influential artist also has 11 studio albums under his belt.

According to Pitchfork, he was inspired to write the new LP when he was finishing up his sheet music project 'Song Reader' last year. There's no name or release date for the acoustic collection yet, but it's coming this year.

He will begin debuting new material at a limited number of acoustic live shows in North America. This comes after news that Beck has been working on another record since 2008, which he has hinted will release this year in some form.

His last full-length album 'Modern Guilt' was released in 2008. You can download it here.

Beck was always pretty so-so for me. But a good voice and an acoustic set is always welcome in my house. Perfect for summer afternoons with the barbeque. I'll pick it up, it can sit in my summer playlist with everlast, Skynyrd and the acoustic stuff from shinedown and art of dying.

Yeah Beck is a good artist but I'm in the same boat as TM
