Call of Duty: Ghosts: Why we're not offering pre-order

We know you'll ask why Call of Duty: Ghosts is not available for pre-order on ShopTo, so here is our official statement regarding the matter.

Due to contractual issues and delivery policy agreement with Activision, ShopTo have decided not to list Call of Duty: Ghosts for pre-order as we do not feel that we can maintain our high standards of release date delivery (99% delivery on release date).
"With Tuesday release date - Dispatch all our pre-order not before Monday with Royal Mail 1 to 3 day Delivery Service"

We will inform you if there are any changes to this in due course.

We will, of course, continue to provide you with unbiased news coverage of Call of Duty: Ghosts.

If other companies want to break contract and give people the game days before they are supposed to then that's their choice. I hate seeing retailers get attacked by the customers because they didn't get their game early and have to wait the extra 24 hours to play it even though Billy from 4 doors down got his copy "like a week ago."

Billy from 4 doors down probably chipped his Xbox ;)

That sucks, would rather not pay £50+ for it in Game, Guess I'll have to wait till the day after release to get it from you.

That's the way to do it LFC. You'll probably still get it faster than from anywhere else hehe.

LFC I would guess you would be able to buy it on the day before and it would most likely get to you on the release date

Ah right I'll just do that then :D Is it a Tuesday release or a Friday one?

Most likely Tuesday so the Americans don't whine about having to wait an extra couple of days. If I were to buy it I would wait for it to be in stock at ShopTo and click buy, I don't tend to preorder anyway.

Ah that's a shame. I'll still be ordering it from here though. We're so used to games having Friday release dates in UK anyway that ordering on or just after it's official release will basically be the same as a Friday release instead of a Tuesday one. So yeah more than happy to wait til ShopTo has stock :D

I bet even if you waited till release day then ordered Call of Duty Ghosts, you'd still probably get it quicker than if you pre-ordered it with amazon. I've pre ordered with amazon before and paid extra for 1st class and the game hasn't arrived till the day after release. Even though they say it gets to you on release day.

I remember that shopto said that black ops 2 they couldn't dispatch to Monday due to activation not wanting people playing it early. Does this mean shopto won't ever take pre-orders for this title or just right now? They could just put a disclaimer.

This is a brave move from Shopto and one i support wholeheartedly. Activision need to get their priorities right.

I predict ShopTo will make the web page for it active once they get them in stock/release day (12th November) with a click to buy button instead of pre order button.

Just re-label all the Black Ops 2's and send them out instead. Nobody will know. It's the same game every year.

TBH this year I don't really care as I have preordered a PS4 and won't be buying the gameuntil I have that on the 29th.... Heres hoping shopto do a CoD Ghosts PS4 bundle I can swap my Feb preorder for?

Just add a disclaimer for release date or compensate for affected titles. Does the embargo apply to next gen versions as well or just initial current gen release?

How about you add a link to pre-order for dispatch on the day of launch, rather than not list it all. You must me missing out on orders having no listing.

Quick question as you can't pre order then. If i was to wait for after the release date to buy it would i get the limted edition free fall map or is that only available if i had pre ordered the game like nuke town was?
