2k Games has released new details for The Bureau: Xcom Declassified, courtesy of a few new previews hitting the internet.
The game is due for release this August, putting it up against titles such as Saint's Row 4 and Splinter Cell: Blacklist, however 2k seems confident that its game will match up well against its rivals.
Details so far suggest that players control William Carter and must use a 'Battle Focus' command wheel to deal with enemies. Apparently gameplay for The Bureau has been redesigned to make strategy, tactics and careful planning crucial, hence the reason for this wheel, which can also be used to controller the Carter, the Commander and further two agents.
As far as the story goes, The Bureau is set in 1962 when aliens first arrive on Earth, so in this respect the art style mixes '60s American nostalgia and modern sci-fi.
It sounds like there will be plenty of gadgets, traps and abilities such as Battle Focus, which slows time and allows players to issue commands using a free-roaming, top-down camera. Apparently there will also be powers and combos, which are unlocked by capturing aliens.
It sounds quite interesting, although don't take our word for it, check out some of these previews:
