No LIVE TV outside US at launch for Xbox One

Microsoft has just sent us through a press release revealing a few interesting fact.

Interestingly Live TV with Kinect navigation, Live TV with One Guide, Trending, and NFL on Xbox will be available in U.S. at launch, however Microsoft says that it is "anticipating a global launch over time."

While users may be disappointed with this we have some more slightly disappointing news. For instance Kinect voice functionality will only be available in supported locales and languages, while at launch, Live TV will require a supported receiver device with HDMI output which are sold separately - obviously this could mean your TV Box, Cable Box etc, although given that the US is the only country getting this function it won't matter too much at first.

You can find all the announcements from the Xbox One event by clicking here.

And there was I thinking that the Xbox One will contain the tuner. I mean, really? My HDTV has DVB tuner that I use in combination with CAM (Conditional Access Module) to watch TV. The programming guide can be retrieved using the existing EPG infrastructure (once again I am getting this directly on my TV). For now, Xbox One is very disappointing.
