Freedom Wars detailed in Famitsu

More details have appeared regarding PS Vita exclusive Freedom Wars, which is being developed by the team at Sony's Japan Studio.

According to a report in Japanese magazine, Famitsu, the game formally known as 'Panopticon' will support eight-player squads, as well as including support for augmented reality features.

The preview, as translated by Polygon, confirms that Freedom Wars is set in a dystopian future where mankind lives in walled-off city-states called Panopticon. In this world, most people have million-year "sentences" placed upon them from birth as a government-mandated method of population control; to reduce this sentence, they must serve "penance" by engaging in battle and retrieving helpless citizens from huge, hideous monsters known as Abductors.

Your hero can be male or female, and Accessories can be customized, much like the Pawns in Dragon's Dogma. It's also noted that the game will provide co-op battles for up to eight players, while the action is described as similar to the Monster Hunter formula.

It sounds like this could be quite a big title for PS Vita, so expect more information at E3.

I really like the sound of this game and am eager to hear more. Loving my vita (Supplied by ShopTo) especially soul sacrifice... so more games similar to that and monster hunter are always welcome.
