Steven Ter Heide has took to the PS Blog to answer fans questions about Killzone: Shadow Fall. The Game Director confirmed during the brief Q&A one of the most asked questions since the reveal. What framerate was the demo running at?
"With regards to framerate and resolution, sure 1080p and 60hz is possible on PS4. It is however always a tradeoff between what you want to show and at what resolution and framerate. We had the demo running at full 1080p resolution and 30hz." He didn't confirm if this will apply to the main game, however it seems we'll need to wait and find that one out.
As for other areas of the game, Heide confirmed that the PS4 game will support remote play, although answering our question as to how the triggers of the Dualshock are replaced in remote play, Heide told us "We haven’t finalized the remote play control scheme yet. The triggers on the Vita are great so we’ll have to see how to make best use of them."
As for the PS4 controller itself, Heide made a brief mention of this, "We have some interesting ideas and features tied to it, but more importantly the controller just feels great! We’ll show some more soon," that'll be at E3 then.
Finally, Heide also discussed why the developer chose to give the game a subtitle rather than sticking with a number and calling the game Killzone 4.
"It's a different feeling game. We have a new conflict that is more about maintaining a fragile balance in the world. It features a cast of new characters. We felt the name Shadow Fall would do it more justice, signalling it a fresh start for the franchise."
Killzone: Shadow Fall is expected to be a PS4 launch title. You can pre-order the game and the console below.
