Xbox One won't release in Asia until late 2014

Asian gamers will not be able to get hold of an Xbox One until at least 'late 2014', according Microsoft.

Alan Bowman, Microsoft's Regional VP for Sales and Marketing in Asia, has said that the new console will launch in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and India around late 2014, although as you can see Japan seems to be missing completely from that list.

The VP told Joystiq that Xbox 360 became the top selling console in Asia this year, although we are pretty sure that the Japanese don't feel the same way since it barely sells over 500 units per week in that particular region.

If Asia is such a high growth area, it makes you wonder why Asia has to wait a year.

We'd imagine Japan will hear all about Xbox One at this year's Tokyo Game Show.

You mean, the demographic that XBOX has been fighting to get a foot into for years? releasing late seems like a dumb move.

Microsoft pretty must handed Next Gen to Sony again. Guess I will have to look ad nr. 9 for 360 and 10 for One in Asia.
