Mario Kart 8 launches next year for Wii U, features anti-gravity

Nintendo have just released that the next game in the Mario Kart series, Mario Kart, will release next year for Wii U.

The game will shake things up a bit by making use of an anti-gravity feature, which allows players to race long vertical roads, or on upside down track. Motorbikes will return from Mario Kart Wii, whilst underwater driving will return from Mario Kart 7. The game will also feature hover karts and gliders.

Nintendo also promised the best multiplayer experience of any Mario Kart title yet.

The game will release in 'Spring 2014' for Wii U. You can watch the game's reveal below.

Uh oh... without this on shelves for Christmas Nintendo have basically scuppered any hope of Wii U seeing significant gains this year.

Easily the best looking game of E3, this and Smash Bros totally blows away anything that Sony and MS had.

I would rather have had some F-Zero really, but the antigrav stuff does remind me of it a bit, and if that's the closest I'm going to get then that's good enough for me.

Please describe the nature of the abuse:
