Mirror's Edge 2 will be open-world

Mirror's Edge 2, which was officially announced during E3, will take place in an open-world setting, EA has revealed.

The game was revealed during publisher EA's press conference on Monday. The news of an open-world setting comes from a conference call that took place yesterday.

Speaking of the game's positive fan reaction and cult status, EA labels boss Frank Gibeau said that they're "bringing Faith back in this open-world, action-adventure game."

The sequel to the 2009 fan favourite is currently in development for Xbox One, PC and PS4. There's not even a hint towards a release date yet, with DICE nothing that it will launch 'when it's ready'.

You can pre-order the game, as well as watch the announcement trailer over and over until your eyes fall out, below.

epic stuff. I loved the first Mirrors Edge which I ended up buying it for both the 360 and PS3. Hopefully there's some sort of special/limited/collector's edition to be had

Is it just me or is every single blooming game for the next gen "Open World"? It's nice to have a linear game once and a while

Still surprised it's getting a sequel - it didn't do too well on original release.

Lol Nox i was thinking the same thing, almost every game at E3 was going on about open world, online and connected and bluring the lines between single player and multiplayer
