Microsoft LIVE giveaway detailed further

Microsoft has released more details on the two free games it'll be giving away to Xbox Live Gold members each month until the end of 2013.

As previously reported, the free games start with Assassin’s Creed 2 and Halo 3, however OXM reports that the program of free games will see new titles added on the 1st and 16th of each month until year’s end.

Once you have the games they are yours to keep indefinitely.

“As our way of saying thanks, we’re giving all active Gold members two bonus Xbox 360 games each month for the rest of the year. Each specially selected, fan-favourite game will be available to download only for a limited time, so grab them before they’re gone and keep them no matter what.”

Are you happy with free games?

How long before they turn off the Halo 3 servers?

While I'm surprised they're free to keep even if your Gold sub expires, the fact that this is only a 6 month initiative and only seems to be giving away really old titles that everyone has played already makes this seem a much less appealing offer than it first appears. Free games regularly should be a permanent fixture across both 360 and Xbone from here on out.

What is the new info? Actually from MS themselves or OXM reporting it late? We already knew about this and is detailed on this page http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/Live/game-with-gold stating the games will be released on the 1st and 16th of each month. It has been there since E3. There is also info on the Xbox dashboard saying to check back every 2 weeks for a new game. GAME mentioned that we would be getting the original Assassins Creed with Fable 3, which I am waiting for. What happened to that? GAME got it wrong or MS changed the deal? http://e3.game.co.uk/microsoft-e3/

Maybe it is new information for those who don't look at the advertisements on the dashboard, for those who don't read the articles on the xbox website.

@PrometheusFan While I agree it should be a permanent fixture on the 360 for the rest of the duration of the consoles life I don't think it will or should feature on the Xbox One, they aren't gonna be letting us play games for free when they have only just been released. While it doesn't sound very appealing the games are free so can't see why anyone would complain really

Sony will be doing it with the PS4, so why can't Microsoft do it with the 180

Drive Club is free for PS+ subscribers, even if it is a cut down version, No excuse to no carry it over to xbone.

Why would you buy them from Games on Demand? Correction, Why would you buy ANYTHING from Games on Demand?
Loli-Nox-Tan 1 year ago
Indeed why would anyone buy from Games on Demand, by the time the games go on there, they are half the price in retail stores and online, I've never bought anything from GoD and unless It's much better on Xbox One I never will.

I bought GRID from GoD for £2.69.
